not to sound like an old woman with an enchanted mirror begging at the side of a medieval road but it’s amazing how much greed has become a publicly acceptable attribute and one day and possibly soon we WILL pay for it
ferment your foods, save your seeds, preserve your harvests, utilize whole plants and animal parts, build your own tools, make your own essentials, mend your clothes, mend your wounds with natural remedies, ask your grandma, ask why you’re in pain not what you can take to make it go away, grow what you can, compost the rest, amend your soil, cherish weeds, cherish waste, trade with your neighbors, hold space for skill sharing, hold space for practicing and practicing and practicing, but acknowledge that expertise is often judged through a capitalist lens– it is not a certificate, honor experimental and passed-down knowledge, abolish invisible feminized labor, disperse domestic work back into the hands of masc people -/ men, respect the ways your ancestors practiced “sustainability,” and recognize the ways in which you are able to reclaim those practices– how you benefit, who it may hurt, be accessible, change the way you consume, depend on people not systems
